Should you invest in social media marketing when you have no money ?

The saying is it takes money to make money . What if you do not have the funds to do so ? Should you take what you make from your full-time job and invest into your small business ? Is there others ways around it ? YES !!! The is always an alternative route to anything and a solution to every unfavorable situation ! I do not EVER recommend you spending money that you do not have ! The purpose of you starting your business was not out of boredom but to make profit ! Here are steps you can take to market your business without investing in money you do not have !
* Free Consultation - Most marketing agencies offer consultation. I would look on their website to see what services they offer call or email them and see how their business practices could help you . This way you can get an idea of where to start on you own .
* Networking - "Its not what you know its who you know" . These experienced people can give you their knowledge .Finding people who are in the same business with experience and ask if they can mentor you or ask if you could run a couple of ideas by them to see what they think. Also find someone who is not in the same business with experience and see how they grew their business.A good place to reach out to people is on Facebook groups or ask for a mentor on Facebook under "mentors" .
* DIY Marketing - If you fail to plan,You plan to fail . Create a marketing plan ! Sit down once a week and write down ideas to draw people to your business. Come up with ideas, freebies and post on FB,IG ,Youtube any free app you can think off. Do not have a notebook full of ideas without taking action. Make it happen ! Go to business pages that are not going so well and ask yourself what would you do to help them ? Then ask yourself do I need to make that same change ! Go to successful business pages and see what they are doing and how you can elevate their idea. Never copy always elevate !
*Share - Sharing is Caring ! Ask family,friends, your new networking connects to share your page ! If people can make a funny post go viral with no money put into marketing,people can most certainly make your business page go viral as well .
*Partner UP - Find another business that can help you and you can help them .
For example : If you own a clothing store and someone else owns a jewelry shop see if it would be a good idea to partner up. The clothing store could model the clothes along with the jewelry and add a tag to that jewelry store and vise versa . Also make sure the company you partner up with is creditable you do not want their companies poor ethics to reflect poorly on your business.
*Promotions - Search for marketing companies that do 3 day test trials . Some agency like myself offer 3 days trials ! This will help get a good start to developing a marketing plan ! A good jump start is sometimes all you need.
* Social Media Cross Post- Sometimes social media posting can be stressful .However linking your instagram post to your facebook & twitter can help and plus its free.
